I have some great news!!!! (Tengo buena noticia!)

I received official word from Eastern University in Pennsylvania that I was accepted into the Master´s Program for Organizational Leadership concentrated in international development! I am SUPER excited!

I still am awaiting the letter of confirmation for how much scholarship I will receive. From that point I will work on applying for student loans to cover the additional percentage not covered by the scholarship. Please pray that goes well and quickly, because the first payment will be due within the next few month. Much appreciated. :)

As for what other things I have been up to...

I went to Diriumba, Nicaragua with some friends to see what the "Hippica" is all about. It is a cultural event where people ride through the streets on their horses all day. :)
(Fui a Diriumba de Nicaragua con algunos amigos para ver "la Hippica". Es un evento cultural cuando la gente de la ciudad monta sus caballos en las calles por todo el día. :)

This last week I went to Sahsa, Nicaragua (La RAAN) with the Troy Conference of the United Methodist Church. There were 16 people on the team that split into two different teams: one construction and one medical. The medica team saw over 1,000 patients within 5 different communities, while the construction team started building a small pharamacy for the community of Las Breñas.

La RAAN is an area where they do speak Spanish, but they also speak Misquito. Here are some phrases that I learned while I was there:

• ¿Ni nam dia? = What is your name?
• Yam nini Beth. = My name is Beth
• Ian Miquitu lan takaisna. = I am learning to speak Misuito.
• Titan Yamni. = Good morning.
• Latwankira = Love

I helped Jerri give consults for pregnant women during the trip. I got to hear a babies heartbeat and palpate the position of the baby. It was so amazing!
(Le ayudé a Jerri una enfermera para dar consultas de control de embarazadas. Pudé oír la frequencia cardiaca de un bebé en útero y tocar la panza para confirmar la posición del bebé. ¡Era increíble!

In other news, my camera broke while I was on the trip, so if anyone has a used Cannon digital camera that they aren´t using, let me know if you are interested in selling it. :) I have some friends that will be coming in March that could bring it down. Thanks.

Prayer Requests and Praises:

• Pray for focus on my job as I begin studying a master´s program added to everything else that is going on in my life.
• Pray for a good amount of scholarship for the Master´s program
• Pray that I will be able to receive enough loan money to cover everything that does not get covered by the scholarship
• Praise that things overall well with the team in Sahsa
• Praise that I will be able to travel with FUMC (my support church) when they are here in March.

Acabo de recibit "la palabra oficial" de Eastern University de Pennsylvania de que me aceptó a la maestría de Liderazgo Organizacional, concetrado en Desarrolla Internacional. ¡Estoy SUPER emocionada!

Todavía estoy esperando confirmación de la beca que voy a recibir. Cuando yo reciba el porciento confirmado puedo solicitar un préstamo para cubrir el porciento no cubierto de la beca. Por favor, me oren que todo pasa bien y rapidamento, porque tengo que pagar la cuenta dentro de algunos meses. Mucha gracias. :)

Con respeto a lo que yo he estado haciendo....

La semana pasada fui a la comunidad de Sahsa en La RAAN de NIcaragua con la conferencia de Troy de la Igelsia Metodista. Hubo 16 personas en la brigada en dos diferente grupos: medical y construcción. El equipo médico dió más que 1,000 consultas dentro de 5 días. El equipo de construcción empezo construir un botequín ampliado (farmacia pequeña) para la comunidad de las Breñas.

En La RAAN hablan español, pero la idioma indiginos es Misquito. Abajo están algunas frases que yo aprendí durante el tiempo allá.

• ¿Ni nam dia? = ¿Como te llamas?

• Ian Miquitu lan takaisna. = Estoy aprendiendo hablar Misquito.
• Titan Yamni. = Buenos días.
• Latwankira = Amor

En otra noticia, se rompio la camera durante el viaje a Shasa. Entonces, si hay algiun que tiene una camara digital de Cannon que no necesitan, por favor me avisa. :) Hay algunos amigos mios que viajarán a Nicaragua en marzo que pueden llevarla a mi. Gracias.

Peticiones de oracion y Alabanzas:

• Para enfoquarme en mi puesto con AMC mientras empezar la maestría y todo el resto que pasa en mi vida.
• Una gran beca para la maestría.
• Puedo recibir suficiente préstamos para cubrir el resto de la maestría.
• Alabanza: Todo pasó bien con la brigada en Sahsa.
• Alabanza: Voy a viajar a la RAAN con mi iglesia de apoyo de los estados cuendo esté acá en Nicaragua en marzo.
